The RentSafe EquIP (equity-focused intersectoral practice) research team is seeking a qualified facilitator for a multi-day retreat to be held from 13-16 November, 2018 in rural Ontario. The retreat is a key component of the RentSafe EquIP participatory action research, led by the Centre for Environmental Health Equity at Queen’s University and funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research. RentSafe EquIP builds on the province-wide RentSafe initiative and seeks to explore and foster intersectoral action to address unhealthy housing conditions experienced by marginalized and low-income tenants in the community of Owen Sound, Ontario.

CPCHE's Executive Director, Erica Phipps, addressed the need for reform of the Canadian Environmental Protection Act (CEPA) in an interview with CTV on February 12th, in conjunction with news of the Scientists4CEPA letter to Prime Minister Trudeau, a petition so far signed by 540 scientists and health professionals across the country. Phipps addressed changes needed to Canada's 30-year old environmental protection law, as outlined in CPCHE's own letter to the Prime Minister on the topic.
